CanGEA releases new BC geothermal resource estimate maps
CanGEA has recently made available for everyone extensive maps and resources pinpointing updated estimations of geothermal resources in BC, Canada.
British Columbia has enormous potential to produce geothermal power. As described by CanGEA, “The most conservative view of the Technical Potential of geothermal power in British Columbia is 5,500 MW”
According to the website, “the data produced by the British Columbia Resource Estimate Mapping project created using the NTS (National Topographic System) grid cell data commonly used throughout Canada. The data has been made available to you to download and use for personal, academic and business use in order to assess and identify geothermal resource potential. The data is intended to serve as a geothermal exploration tool for making informed business decisions and mitigating investment risks.”
