Consortium around Toshiba planning 50 MW project in Caldas, Colombia

Isagen SA, Schlumberger Ltd. and West Japan Engineering Consultants Inc will be joining Toshiba into the consideration of building a 50MW geothermal plant in the area of Caldas following a two-year feasibility study

In a very brief news piece from Bloomberg, it is mentioned that “Toshiba Corp. and three other companies will consider developing Colombia’s first geothermal power station.”

According to the same source, the three companies are “Isagen SA, Schlumberger Ltd. and West Japan Engineering Consultants Inc.” and they will be joining Toshiba into the consideration of building a 50MW geothermal plant in the area of Caldas.

It is expected that the plant could be operational in 2020 following  “a two-year feasibility study, Toshiba said.”
