Finnish firm supplying high-performing valve solutions to Turkey
Turkish geothermal development continues as news show on supply contracts for valve solutions.
A recent news statement by Finnish company Metso, highlights the continued growth of geothermal development of Turkey.
Metso provides “a highly qualified range of control valves for geothermal power plants”. The announcement states that the company has received a total of 12 small or mid-sized orders from geothermal power providers in Turkey.
“Metso’s proven valve solutions are an ideal fit for the geothermal industry where process conditions with variable pressures and temperatures can be very demanding on valve performance. Metso can meet customers’ needs with our deep knowledge of choosing the proper valve type, material and specific sealing technologies to ensure a leak-free and reliable process”, emphasized Cansu Gürbüz, Key Account Manager, Geothermals, Turkey, Flow Control, Metso.
The value of the orders is not disclosed. Some of these orders are included in Metso’s first-quarter 2015 orders received, and divided bookings will follow during the second and third quarters of 2015.
Given the technology ordered, this means we can expect a few plants coming online in Turkey this year. We will keep you posted.
In 2014 Metso received a large order from Zorlu Energy Companies Group in Turkey for flow control technology for a geothermal power plant. The company is building a new 45-MW geothermal power plant in Manisa-Alasehir, located about 560 km southwest of Ankara.
In 2013, Metso won its 10th repeat order from the Norwegian company Green Energy Group AS to deliver valves for their geothermal power plant installation in Kenya. Metso’s valves are also installed in other countries such as in Iceland, Indonesia and Mexico.
