Government of Montserrat moving forward with geothermal project

The Government of Montserrat announces it will be moving forwards with its plan to drill two geothermal exploratory wells later this year supported by Public sector funding and expects to issue a tender soon.

Having been informed that things are progressing in the Caribbean UK territory of Montserrat, I am pleased to report that “the Govt of Montserrat is moving forward with its plans to drill two geothermal exploratory wells on the island beginning later this year.

The government is currently appointing a  specialist to undertake the environmental assessment ahead of the drilling programme. As part of this program the government will also be seeking to recruit a number of geothermal specialist support staff which will be advertised soon.  In parallel tenders for the drilling work will be released shortly.  For information contact Ron Beardsley, Director of Public Works, Government of Montserrat at  [email protected]
