Indonesia and Iceland to cooperate on geothermal development

Indonesia and Iceland will reinforce cooperation in geothermal development and fisheries.
As already announced at the opening ceremony of the World Geothermal Congress here in Bali, “Indonesia and Iceland will reinforce cooperation in geothermal and fisheries.
The cooperation was approved by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the President of Iceland, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, in Bali yesterday afternoon.
“There will be cooperation in geothermal and fisheries,” said the Presidential spokesperson, Dino Patti Djalal, in the President’s office yesterday.
According to Dino, around 40 percent of the world geothermal reserves are in Indonesia, while Iceland has the technology.
“Iceland has the most advanced geothermal technology,” said Dino.
Both countries also agreed to reinforce cooperation in fisheries, [with fisheries representing a large part on fisheries].”
