Indonesia & Costa Rica sign geothermal cooperation agreement

Geothermal si one of the key sectors that both countries hope to cooperate and develop by tapping into each other's know-how.

Asia and Latin America are coming a little closer. According to the Jakarta Post, “Indonesia and Costa Rica will strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors following the signing of a framework cooperation agreement between the two countries, a Foreign Ministry official has said.”

Some of these sectors include disaster mitigation and crime fighting, but by far the most importante one makes reference to renewable energy and geothermal development.

Indonesia is well know to have the world’s largest geothermal energy reserves and Costa Rica has done great advances in the development of this energy source. By signing this cooperation agreement, both countries look to assist each other and further help each other to develop their geothermal prowess.
