Japans Ministry of Environment requests $20 m funding for geothermal
Japan's Ministry of Environment is requesting $20 million for the work on business plans and the purchase of equipment for geothermal power producers as part of larger funding request of $441 million for clean energy fund.
As part of a larger funding request of 43.5 billion yen ($441 million), Japan’s Ministry of the Environment is requesting 2 billion yen (around $20 million) for subsidies for the work on business plans and the purchase of equipment for geothermal power producers.
This is a tiny amount compared to the 70 billion yen ($710 million) it is asking for a clean energy fund to start next spring. This fund might also be interesting particularly for some of the smaller geothermal projects as it will support regional companies and aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
