Mexico starting large energy sector capacity building initiative

To support the expected growth of Mexico's energy market, more than 135,000 experts will be needed in the next five years and made the government decide on an ambitious educational program with 60,000 scholarships offered.
With the large energy development planned, Mexico’s energy sector will requite its capabilities. It is expected that the planned growth of Mexico’s energy market will require about 135,000 experts for the next five years.
So the Mexican government has now decided to offer up to 60,000 scholarships for students of technical, middle, higher and postgraduate backgrounds, so the Head of the Ministry of Energy (SENER), Pedro Joaquin Coldwell.
At the recent International Congress on Human Resources, he noted that there are is already work ongoing with the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), universities and academic study to adapt to the needs of the new energy industry plans.
For the promotion of renewable energy, the Mexican Innovation Centers are set up as consortiums formed between government, educational institutions, research centers and companies to develop Mexican technology in wind, solar, geothermal, ocean and biomass.
The head of the Sener said that with the implementation of the energy reform generation talent is encouraged and expected new projects, both in the hydrocarbon sector and electricity, will bring new jobs to the country.
