Ministers in Egypt sign MoU to develop geothermal
Egypt´s electricity and Petroleum Ministers Mohamed Shaker and Tarek el-Mulla signed an MoU to foster the use of geothermal in the country.
In a very brief news release, the “Electricity and Petroleum Ministers Mohamed Shaker and Tarek el-Mulla, respectively, attended on Sunday 24/4/2016 the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to use geothermal energy.
The MoU was inked between the South Valley Holding Company for Petroleum (Ganope) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA).”
There are no more details regarding scope, projects or other information, but we hope we will soon hear more on this story.
According to the local news source, this MoU reflects the interest by the government to develop new and renewable energy and cut the consumption of traditional fossil fuels.
