Geothermal has great potential and according to local news, Nevada is looking at shutting down old coal powered plants and substituting almost 500 MW with green energy. Considering that Nevada has vast potential in geothermal still to be exploited, this can be a significant breakthrough for the industry. Geothermal not only provides renewable energy but also a steady stream of jobs during and after the construction of the power plants.

The retirement of coal fired plants will be confirmed if Senate Bill 123 is passed in the coming months.
