ThermaSource hires new Chief Operating Officer
ThermaSource announces the hiring of Gerald ("Jerry") Hamblin as Chief Operating Officer, who has over 33 years of experience in the geothermal industry in areas such as planning, well design, program evaluation, rig management and engineering.
In a release by the company, “ThermaSource, Inc. announces the hiring of Gerald (“Jerry”) Hamblin as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Hamblin comes to ThermaSource with over 33 years of experience in the geothermal industry in areas such as planning, well design, program evaluation, rig management and engineering.
Mr. Hamblin spent 30 years of his career at Unocal where he oversaw engineering and the drilling operations in parts of the US, Indonesia, and the Philippines. He has also managed projects for Philippine Geothermal, Inc., Ormat, Sierra Geothermal Power, CalEnergy, Calpine, NCPA and was the Drilling Manager for The Geysers and Salton Sea Fields. In addition to his experience in the field, Mr. Hamblin also holds two patents that have helped advance the geothermal drilling industry. He was also a member of teams that planned the expansion of the Awibangkok field and the exploration of the Sarulla project in Indonesia. Mr. Hamblin attended Stanford University.
