Sometimes the world does not evolve around geothermal, but making an impact beyond. So ThinkGeoEnergy is proud to join POWER Engineers employees in initiating funding of the Safari Simbaz Junior Cycling program in Kenya.

At the recent African Rift Geothermal Conference in Arusha, Tanzania, we took a break of discussing geothermal opportunities and ended up talking about bicycling in Africa. Having been a vivid biker myself, I have also been known to hang for days in front of the television when the Tour de France was going on. I therefore also followed a young gentleman from Britain, who finished second at the 2012 Tour de France.

Little did I know that Chris actually is from and was brought up in Kenya and is the hero to the local bicycling community in Kenya. So when I heard about the efforts of Safari Simbaz, through Mike Long of Power Engineers and “Highway to Heaven” race, I thought we would need to support this.

So ThinkGeoEnergy joins POWER Engineers employees to initiate funding of the Safari Simbaz Junior Cycling program in Kenya.

Net proceeds of the inaugural “Highway to Heaven” bike race will go direct to helping grow youth cycling through the Safari Simbaz – Reducing Poverty Through the Power of the Bike program based in Nairobi, Kenya.
