U.S. BLM to release environmental impact study on geothermal leases in Colorado

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is to release a new environmental impact study on geothermal development in Colorado.
Reported by a few media outlets, it is reported that the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will release its study of the environmental impact of geothermal energy development on two blocks of land in southeastern Gunnison County.”
The study is expected to be released today and looks into the environmental impact on geothermal development on land administered by BLM, private land and some forest land, near Tomichi Dome and the Waunita Hot Springs in Colorado. According to the news, BLM will be accepting comments until December 4, 2010.
As previously reported, BLM is going to offer the first geothermal lease on federal land in Colarado next week, November 10th, near Mount Princeton Hot Spring Resort in Chafee County, Colorado.
